I believe the role of the School Board is to:

• Set the tone that determines the climate of the school,
• Identify the vision and goals for the district,
• Hold the district accountable for results,
• Support the implementation of policies and practices that provide an outstanding education to all district students, and
• Serve the interests of students, their families, faculty, staff, and the administration.

I would be a relentless advocate for our children as a member of the School Board.

Why am I running for the School Board?

Currently, our nation is grappling with issues of equity, inclusion, and justice. In the Santa Ynez Valley, educational disparities impact not only students of color, LGBTQ students, and students with disabilities, but all of our students. 

I have over 20 years of experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) work in schools, and I remain committed to the development of my own personal anti-bias awareness.Through my professional development, education, and teaching practices, I have gained the skills and confidence to guide DEI conversations so that a variety of people may share their perspectives and everyone can find common ground and understanding. 

I want to collaborate with all constituents (students, families, teachers, staff, administrators, and board members) to work together on enriching the spaces our schools provide. I believe in providing all students the opportunity and the support they need to access all programs and resources available. As a School Board member, I will work diligently to that end.
